Wattage - Desktop vs. Laptop

Can this be true? Just read in Reader's Digest that a laptop draws 15 to 25 watts while in use and a desktop draws 150 watts.

If so, a big difference on the hydro bill.

Hmm ..I don't know what sort of Desktop computer is being monitored in that article but my set-up only consumes around 65 Watts of power (varies a little) when being actively used. This reading is the computer and monitor combined. The monitor is a 22" LCD one lit by LEDs. The reading is taken from a power meter that measures power being drawn from the mains socket, which I'd say is what really matters.
