I love the cat struggling with the loo plunger.

The loveable furball can have a job in my house anytime.

That's sweet, beast.

I took care of my hubby and I think if it was me that couldn't do it, he would have cooked but I don't know about housework.

We split it all. We both work so why should one person do more housework?

When I was 12, my mother taught me to cook, clean, sew, and do laundry and I've been doing it ever since! She told me I would not need a woman for anything but the obvious! LMAO I still can use a sewing machine and I do my own laundry. For cooking, me and my GF take turns. For instance, if it is my turn today then we eat what I make for the next two days. The person that cooks can make one meal that will last for two days or make a new meal each day...their choice. The downside to that is if the meal is bad, you're screwed or need to eat leftovers...if they are good!  :lmaf: But this does save on doing dishes, cooking, gas, etc.

We even keep our own money from our jobs. We split the bills and can keep the rest for ourselves. We don't have to ask the other for money, etc. but will combine it if we want something we each cannot afford for the house. Actually, it works out very well and there's a lot of less fighting over money...unless someone is not paying an important bill. LOL

Seems like you have the perfect system....great to see.

I was the cook and housekeeper in my marriage but then I was a stay at home mom.

I do admit though that my husband was the one that would sew a button on...I'm lousy at sewing.

We have scaled back, or I have scaled back. I run the vacuum once a week now, not everyday, I do the laundry twice a week, cook dinner once a night, lunch is soup and sandwich or nothing at all, breakfast is cold or hot cereal or maybe a poached egg.

I seem to feel more lazy as I grow older..

If the wife ever passes on I will not bother to clean the place, I think I'd just move into a seniors home..
