Forgotten old dogs find a home in northern Michigan
« on: April 16, 2017, 10:30:30 AM »
ELK RAPIDS — Her name was Jersey Girl. She was an old dog. She had cancer. And her owner decided she’d become too much trouble to deal with.

So he brought her into the local animal shelter to get rid of her. He sheepishly filled out the required paperwork. But a cold heart didn’t dull his fear of shame, and he tried to soothe it by lying. At first he wrote down the boxer’s real age, 10, then he crossed it out and put it as 20, thinking it would make this abandonment more socially acceptable.

I don't know how the owner of a dog, they raised from  a little playful puppy to an adult dog, can just give them up because they are old and maybe sick..

As far as I am concerned, you take any animal on and it's for life..

There are in need of funds, if you care to make a donation it is on there Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/silvermuzzlecottage/

Silver Muzzle Cottage, is located on US 31 just north of Traverse City..
