Staged car accident lures murder suspect Allan Shyback into Mr. Big sting

Murder suspect Allan Shyback was drawn into a Mr. Big sting through a staged fender bender, court heard Wednesday.

A female undercover officer, who can’t be identified, testified how she befriended Shyback after intentionally driving into his parked car.

On Dec. 4, 2013, more than a year after Shyback’s common-law wife, Lisa Mitchell, disappeared, the officer went to Shyback’s workplace.

“My role that day was to attend the area of Mr. Shyback’s employment, located his vehicle and, with an undercover vehicle, created a minor amount of damage to the vehicle in order to prompt a conversation and meeting with (him),” she told Crown prosecutor Jayme Williams.
